Amorepacific’s Mamonde Unveils Sun Care Line Claiming 24-Hour Makeup Support
Amorepacific’s Mamonde brand has introduced two new sun care products, Flora Glow Rose UV Protector and Pore Control Peony UV Protector. The company claims these formulations support makeup wear for up to 24 hours while providing UV protection.

Mamonde Launches New Sun Care with Extended Makeup Claims
Amorepacific’s Mamonde brand has launched two new sun care products: Flora Glow Rose UV Protector and Pore Control Peony UV Protector. The company claims these formulations provide UV protection while supporting makeup adherence and wear for up to 24 hours.
This initiative reflects a focus on sun care as a foundational element for overall makeup quality, according to a Mamonde official. The Flora Glow Rose UV Protector is presented as an ultra-lightweight option. Amorepacific states it uses a patented technology to create fine bubbles without gas, with two to three pumps dispensing less than one gram of product.
These bubbles are said to spread thinly and evenly, aiming for a fresh finish without stickiness or clumping. This product incorporates Rose-Peptide, an ingredient from Mamonde's existing Rose skincare line, and reports 80 percent skincare ingredients in its formulation, claiming to moisturize skin and create a dewy appearance.
Targeted Formulations for Varied Skin Concerns
The second product, Pore Control Peony UV Protector, features a purple tone. Mamonde claims this formulation helps control excess sebum and oil, while also naturally correcting yellow undertones in the skin. Key ingredients include peony extract, zinc, and niacinamide, drawing from the brand's established Peony skincare line.
The company states this product manages excess sebum and oil, smooths the appearance of pores, and contributes to a more refined complexion. Mamonde officials noted that consumers can select either the Rose product for a moisturized, dewy finish or the Peony product for controlling excess oil, depending on their specific skin concerns and desired makeup look.
The brand plans a sequential rollout for both new sun care products through major online and offline retail channels, including Olive Young, Naver, and Amore Mall.
Implications for Asia’s Hybrid Beauty Market
This launch by Amorepacific’s Mamonde brand highlights a strategic move within the K-beauty market, emphasizing hybrid products that blend skincare efficacy with cosmetic benefits. The focus on “24-hour makeup wear” in sun care products suggests a direct response to evolving consumer expectations for high-performance, long-lasting beauty solutions.
This trend may influence product development across the broader Asian beauty industry. Brands in Southeast Asia, China, and other markets could observe and adapt similar strategies, integrating extended cosmetic claims into their sun protection offerings.
For regional retailers, this could mean an increased demand for multi-functional products that simplify daily beauty routines while delivering on specific performance promises.
