Avolta Opens Pop-Up Lounge in Cannes

Global travel retailer Avolta will open its first pop-up Club Avolta Lounge next week at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, France. The lounge, located on the Boulevard de la Croisette near the Palais des Festivals, will welcome guests from Tuesday, September 29, to Thursday, October 1.

This three-day event follows a welcome cocktail on Monday evening, marking Avolta's debut of a dedicated member space at the exhibition.

Beauty Activations for Members

The Club Avolta Lounge will host various activities designed for its members. These experiences include yoga sessions, coffee networking events, and aperitivo "golden hour" gatherings. Notably, the lounge will also feature makeup sessions and product tastings.

Avolta states these activations demonstrate how it delivers experiences to travelers through "the right product, the right partner, the right activation."

Membership and Engagement Strategy

Avolta describes the lounge's purpose as offering "connection, discovery, and indulgence" to its guests. The space will showcase experiences from Club Avolta partners and members throughout the week. Access to the lounge is exclusive to Club Avolta members, with new members able to join via the Club Avolta app.

This initiative demonstrates Avolta's strategy to cultivate a community around its brand and provides a direct physical space for interaction.

Asia's Travel Retail Adopts Experiential Marketing

This launch suggests a potential shift towards experiential marketing within the global travel retail sector. For Asian beauty brands and travel retail operators, this model offers a way to engage consumers beyond traditional product displays.

Asian beauty companies could integrate similar themed activations in key regional hubs, such as Singapore Changi Airport or Seoul Incheon Airport. Such direct engagement can influence purchasing decisions and build brand loyalty in competitive travel retail environments.
