New Leadership for North America Personal Care

BASF has announced the promotion of Hannah Bofinger to lead its personal care sales operations in North America. This appointment, effective September 17, 2026, places Ms. Bofinger at the helm of a critical market for the German chemical giant's beauty and personal care ingredient division.

In her new capacity, she will be responsible for overseeing sales strategies and driving business growth across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, reinforcing BASF's commitment to the region's dynamic beauty industry.

Extensive Industry Experience

Ms. Bofinger's career with BASF began in May 2020 as an Account Manager for care chemicals, where she developed a deep understanding of the company's diverse portfolio. She quickly advanced, taking on the role of Regional Key Account Manager for personal care in May 2023.

Prior to her tenure at BASF, Ms. Bofinger gained valuable experience at Croda, another prominent ingredient supplier. From 2014 to 2020, she progressed from a graduate trainee to an account manager, demonstrating a consistent track record in sales and client management within the specialty chemicals sector.

Strategic Vision and Customer Focus

Commenting on her new leadership position, Ms. Bofinger expressed gratitude for the opportunity to guide her team. She outlined her commitment to supporting BASF's customer base across North America, aiming to foster continued business expansion.

Her remarks also acknowledged the significant role played by mentors, colleagues, and industry partners throughout her career, suggesting a collaborative and customer-centric approach will be central to her strategy in this new role. This focus aligns with BASF's broader efforts to innovate and provide tailored solutions for personal care formulators.

Implications for Global Ingredient Sourcing

As a global leader in specialty chemicals, BASF's strategic appointments in key markets like North America can have ripple effects on its worldwide operations and product offerings.

While Ms. Bofinger's role is regional, shifts in North American market demand or sales priorities under her leadership could influence global ingredient development, supply chain allocation, and innovation pipelines within BASF.

Asian beauty manufacturers and formulators, who frequently source ingredients from global suppliers, should observe these developments for potential impacts on ingredient availability, new product launches, or pricing structures that may eventually affect their own supply strategies.
