New Boutique Opens in Shenzhen Terminal 3

Cartier and China Duty Free Group (CDFG) have opened a relocated boutique at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport. The redesigned store, which began operations on 19 August 2026, is situated within the domestic departures hall of Terminal 3.

This partnership brings Cartier’s collections, including jewellery, watches, leathergoods, fragrances, and accessories, to travelers at a prominent Chinese aviation center. The collaboration shows a joint focus on improving the retail environment for travelers.

Design Reflects Shenzhen's Identity

The boutique’s design blends signature Cartier elements with architectural details inspired by Shenzhen’s urban and coastal characteristics. Its champagne-gold façade features fluid patterns that, according to Cartier, reference the city’s connection to the sea.

Inside, warm wood and gold finishes create what the company describes as a luxury setting, aiming to celebrate Shenzhen’s balance of nature and modernity. A notable straw marquetry wall depicts the Shenzhen skyline alongside Cartier’s panther emblem, further connecting the store to its location. A dedicated consultation area is also available for personalized client interactions.

Strategic Partnership for Travel Retail

Michelle Sun, China Duty Free Group Vice President, stated the redesigned boutique demonstrates the strong collaboration between Cartier and CDFG. She noted a shared commitment to providing exceptional client service and a seamless shopping experience for travelers.

Eliza Yao, Cartier Global Travel Retail Director, added that this relocated boutique marks a key step in Cartier’s goal to enhance client interactions at major airports globally. The integration of local elements with Cartier’s brand codes aims to give airport boutiques a distinct sense of place.

This strategy suggests a model for luxury brands seeking to deepen their presence in high-traffic Asian travel retail locations, emphasizing localized design and strong retail partnerships to attract discerning consumers.
