Unified Platform for Prestige Beauty Insights

Swedish travel retail market research firm Generation Research has joined forces with beauty market intelligence company Beauté Research. This integration establishes a unified global platform designed to provide comprehensive data and insights for the prestige beauty sector.

Generation Research contributes over 40 years of expertise in market analysis, while Beauté Research specializes in Asian beauty markets. Jean-Marc Schonbach, Chief Executive Officer of Beauté Research, stated the combination creates greater value for the beauty industry through broader coverage and improved market intelligence, particularly within global travel retail.

Expanded Reach Across Global and Asian Markets

The combined capabilities of the two firms will offer an extensive global perspective on the prestige beauty and cosmetics sector. This includes coverage across all major global travel retail regions. Additionally, the new entity will provide deep insights into domestic markets throughout Asia, specifically mentioning the rapidly expanding Indian market.

Sébastien Van Vyve, Chief Executive Officer of Generation Research, noted that by merging global travel retail expertise with detailed knowledge of domestic markets, brands can gain a more connected view of the duty-free landscape, supporting better-informed strategic decisions.

Broader Category Intelligence

Beyond beauty, the integrated platform will extend its data and insights to several other categories. These include spirits and wine, tobacco, confectionery and fine food, fashion and accessories, watches and jewellery, consumer electronics, and gifts. This broader scope aims to create a deeper understanding of prestige markets and their various distribution channels.

The partners also confirmed their commitment to ongoing collaboration with retailers, operators, brands, and other industry stakeholders to continuously enhance the shared data ecosystem and refine market estimates.

Implications for Asia's Beauty Economy

For Asia's beauty industry, this merger offers enhanced access to integrated market intelligence. Asian beauty brands considering expansion into global travel retail can now access consolidated data that combines regional specificities with worldwide duty-free trends.

Similarly, international brands targeting Asian domestic markets, particularly high-growth areas like India, will benefit from more granular insights into consumer preferences and market dynamics.

This unified data platform can help brand teams refine product strategies, optimize distribution channels, and make more precise investment decisions across both local and international prestige beauty segments.
