Givaudan Opens Morocco Development Hub for SAMEA
Givaudan, a flavors and fragrances company, launched a new development hub in Casablanca, Morocco. This facility aims to enhance local fragrance development and application capabilities for clients across South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

New Casablanca Facility Strengthens Regional Presence
Givaudan established a new development hub in Casablanca, Morocco. This move aims to strengthen the company's presence across South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa (SAMEA). The facility houses modern application and perfumery laboratories. It also includes a dedicated development department and office space.
This expansion allows Givaudan to extend its regional footprint through localized fragrance development capabilities. A dedicated commercial team will also operate from this new site.
Strategic Investment for Customer Proximity
This expansion aligns with Givaudan's 2030 strategy, according to Maurizio Volpi, President, Fragrance & Beauty, Givaudan. Volpi stated it reflects a long-term commitment to serve local and regional customers in the SAMEA region more closely. He added that investing in Casablanca builds creative and technical foundations.
This supports customer ambitions with agility and helps realize the full potential of these markets. Felix Mayr-Harting, Global Head of Consumer Products, Givaudan, noted that Casablanca serves as a natural gateway for the company's regional goals. He emphasized that the Moroccan team's understanding of consumer habits across SAMEA will benefit customers.
Implications for South Asian Beauty Businesses
The new hub intends to enable faster innovation across fabric care, home care, personal care, and fine fragrance categories. A team of evaluators and marketing managers will also be based at the site. This positioning aims to offer greater proximity and responsiveness to clients throughout the region.
For Asian beauty businesses, particularly those operating in or exporting to South Asia, this Givaudan expansion suggests a focus on more tailored and agile fragrance solutions. This could influence ingredient sourcing and product development strategies for brands targeting these growing markets, potentially offering more localized fragrance options.
