Loft Re-Enters Hong Kong Beauty Retail with Moko Pop-Up
Japanese lifestyle retailer Loft has returned to the Hong Kong market, opening a year-long pop-up store at Moko shopping centre. Local partner Yaichi operates the outlet, which offers over 3,500 products including cosmetics from Japanese brand Vim Beauty.

Loft Re-establishes Hong Kong Presence
Loft, the Japanese lifestyle retailer, has re-established a retail presence in Hong Kong. The company opened a temporary store on August 22, 2026, within the Moko shopping centre. This pop-up location is scheduled to operate for one year. Local retailer Yaichi manages the store's operations.
This launch marks Loft's return to the Hong Kong market, following a previous period of operations there. The initiative focuses on a diverse product range, aiming to capture consumer interest over the next 12 months.
Beauty Offerings Among Extensive Product Range
The Moko pop-up store features more than 3,500 products across several categories. These include stationery, homeware, gifts, and seasonal items. Crucially for the beauty sector, the store stocks cosmetics from the Japanese brand Vim Beauty. The brand states beauty influencer Marilyn created these products.
Other offerings include the Loft Limited Tote Bag and B-Side Label stickers. This broad product assortment allows Loft to test market demand in various segments, with beauty being a notable inclusion.
Yaichi Implements Price Match and Membership Program
Yaichi, as the operating partner, implemented a "Japan Price Match" policy for the new store. This strategy aims to align prices with those found in Japan. Yaichi also launched the "Yaichi Loft Tomo" membership program. This program provides members with exclusive pricing and other stated benefits.
These initiatives reflect a focused approach by Yaichi to build customer loyalty and drive sales during the pop-up's operational period. The pricing strategy seeks to address consumer expectations regarding value.
Implications for Asia's Beauty Market
Loft's re-entry into Hong Kong's retail landscape, managed by Yaichi, highlights the continued interest in Japanese lifestyle and beauty products within the region. For beauty brands and retailers in Asia, this move demonstrates the viability of pop-up formats for market re-entry or testing.
The inclusion of an influencer-founded beauty brand like Vim Beauty also underscores the growing importance of digital creators in product curation and consumer engagement strategies. Competitors will observe how Yaichi's price-matching and membership programs affect consumer purchasing patterns in a market sensitive to value and exclusive offers.
