Amélie Fortier-Cyr takes on the role, reporting to President and CEO Stéphane Bérubé, to accelerate the company's digital, marketing, and AI strategy.

Leadership Change at L'Oréal Canada
L'Oréal Canada has appointed Amélie Fortier-Cyr as its new Chief Digital & Marketing Officer. This move places her in a key leadership position to drive the cosmetics group's digital, marketing, and artificial intelligence strategies within the Canadian market. Fortier-Cyr will report directly to Stéphane Bérubé, the President and CEO of L'Oréal Canada.
She will also collaborate closely with Han Wen, who serves as the Chief Digital Marketing Officer for the broader North America Zone, aligning Canadian efforts with regional objectives. This appointment is effective immediately, reinforcing L'Oréal's ongoing commitment to innovation in its consumer engagement.
Driving Digital and AI Initiatives
The primary focus of Fortier-Cyr's new role will be to accelerate L'Oréal Canada's strategic initiatives in digital transformation, media innovation, and AI-enabled marketing. The company aims to enhance its consumer outreach and brand presence through advanced technological applications.
This includes developing new digital platforms and refining existing marketing channels to improve customer experience and engagement. The emphasis on AI reflects a broader industry trend towards data-driven decision-making and personalized consumer interactions across all beauty segments, shaping future market approaches.
Fortier-Cyr's Extensive L'Oréal Career
Amélie Fortier-Cyr brings nearly two decades of experience within L'Oréal to her new position. Her career spans various markets, including Canada, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. Most recently, she held the role of General Manager for L'Oréal Paris in the UK and Ireland.
Her prior leadership roles within the company also include managing Lancôme Canada and L'Oréal Paris Canada, providing her with a deep understanding of the Canadian beauty landscape and L'Oréal's brand portfolio. She succeeds Marc Dicko, who has transitioned to a new Group position within the company.
Global Digital Leadership and Asia Implications
Marc Dicko, Fortier-Cyr's predecessor, has moved to a new Group position as Chief Digital Marketing Officer for the SAPMENA Zone, which encompasses South Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and North Africa. This strategic move shows L'Oréal's commitment to enhancing digital capabilities across these diverse and growing markets.
For beauty industry leaders in Asia, this signals L'Oréal's continued investment in robust digital and AI strategies within their region.
Asian brands and manufacturers may observe how these global digital leadership shifts influence market approaches and consumer engagement models, potentially driving similar talent acquisitions or technological adoptions to maintain competitive advantage.
