Musinsa Opens Seoul Pop-Up with Zozotown for Japanese Brands
The South Korean retailer's collaboration brings 15 labels to Musinsa Store Seongsu, running until October 31, 2026, building on its existing platform for Korean beauty products in Japan.

Japanese Brands Arrive in Seoul
South Korean fashion retailer Musinsa is collaborating with Japan's Zozotown to introduce 15 Japanese fashion brands to Seoul. This initiative marks an expansion of their partnership, which previously focused on bringing South Korean labels to Japan. A temporary retail space, named "Zozotown in Musinsa," commenced operations on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Musinsa Store Seongsu.
This physical pop-up will remain open until October 31, 2026, complemented by an online promotional campaign extending through November 16, 2026. Featured brands include Beauty & Youth United Arrows, Snidel, and Urban Research, alongside other labels that have had limited availability in the South Korean market.
Zozotown selected these brands based on their sales performance in Japan and prior experience with local fashion collaborations.
Expanding a Two-Way Partnership
The Seoul event signifies a new phase in the ongoing alliance between Musinsa and Zozotown, which began with an agreement signed in December 2024. Initially, their cooperation aimed to provide South Korean fashion brands with access to Japanese consumers.
By November 2025, Musinsa had established a dedicated online store on Zozotown, now offering over 300,000 products from more than 2,100 South Korean fashion and beauty brands. This digital expansion has been mirrored in offline retail, with Musinsa participating in a Zozotown pop-up in Nagoya in February 2026.
Conversely, Zozotown joined a Musinsa event in Tokyo in August 2026 and is scheduled to operate a booth at an upcoming Musinsa pop-up in Osaka later this month.
Musinsa's Growth in Japan
Musinsa has been actively expanding its presence in Japan, establishing a local subsidiary in 2021 and launching its global online store in 2022. The company reported a more than fivefold increase in its transaction volume within Japan between 2023 and 2025.
In the first half of 2026, both new customer memberships and overall transaction volume more than doubled compared to the same period the previous year.
Musinsa's chief global officer, Park Jun-young, commented on the strategic approach, stating that "entering a new market requires considerable time and money, making it important to assess local demand and purchasing potential before making a full-scale investment." In South Korea, Musinsa Trading, a subsidiary, already distributes established Japanese fashion brands such as Undercover, A Bathing Ape, and Y-3.
Implications for Beauty Brands
The continued expansion of the Musinsa-Zozotown partnership offers a clearer pathway for South Korean beauty brands seeking to enter or grow within the Japanese market.
With Musinsa's dedicated storefront on Zozotown already featuring over 2,100 Korean beauty brands and 300,000 products, this collaboration provides an established e-commerce channel backed by Musinsa's growing transaction volume in Japan.
Conversely, the introduction of Japanese fashion brands to Seoul through pop-ups could signal future opportunities for Japanese beauty brands to leverage similar retail strategies in South Korea, following Musinsa's model of market assessment before full investment.
Brands should note Musinsa's success in doubling memberships and transaction volume in H1 2026 in Japan, indicating a receptive consumer base for international fashion and beauty offerings.
