Symrise Acquires Floral Concept
Symrise, a global supplier of fragrances, flavors, and cosmetic ingredients, has completed its acquisition of Floral Concept, a specialist in natural perfumery ingredients. The transaction, initially announced in July, gives Symrise full ownership of the French company.
This move strengthens Symrise's portfolio of premium natural ingredients, an area of increasing demand in the beauty and fragrance sectors. Symrise did not disclose the financial terms of the acquisition.
New Grasse-Based Natural Perfumery Hub
Floral Concept will integrate with Symrise's Lautier 1795 unit, creating a dedicated hub for natural perfumery ingredients. This new center will be located in the Grasse region of France, an area historically significant for fragrance production.
Frédérique Rémy, General Manager for Floral Concept, stated that joining Symrise allows her company to preserve its traditional craftsmanship and product quality. It also provides access to Symrise's global platform, opening new avenues for innovation and growth.
Business Continuity and Broader Offerings
Symrise's immediate priority post-acquisition is to ensure business continuity and maintain service levels for Floral Concept's existing customers. The company plans to gradually offer these clients a wider selection of ingredients, leveraging Symrise's enhanced sourcing and transformation expertise, as well as its extensive perfumery capabilities.
Ricardo Omori, President of Symrise's Global Scent Division, noted that the combination of Floral Concept and Lautier 1795 merges premium natural ingredient knowledge with strong customer and producer relationships. He expressed an ambition to establish a new benchmark for creativity, quality, and sustainability within the perfumery industry.
