Record Quarterly Performance

South Korean beauty firm APR achieved record third-quarter revenue of 773.1 billion won ($579.8 million) in 2026, representing a double from the same period last year. The company's operating profit also saw a significant increase, jumping 68.9 percent year-on-year to 160.6 billion won. These preliminary earnings were released last Friday.

For the initial nine months of 2026, APR's revenue reached 2.13 trillion won, with operating profit totaling 503.5 billion won, already surpassing its full-year results for 2025.

Global Sales Drive Growth

Overseas sales were a primary catalyst for APR's performance, surging 135 percent to 722.9 billion won in the third quarter. This figure constituted 94 percent of the company's total revenue for the period. North America contributed 46 percent of the quarterly revenue, while Europe accounted for 23 percent.

Together, these two regions generated 69 percent of sales, a notable increase from 47 percent a year earlier. APR stated this expansion was due to robust international demand and broader distribution across both online and physical retail channels.

Strategic Retail Expansion

In the United States, APR has expanded its retail presence through partnerships with major chains including Target, Walmart, and Costco. The company also leverages e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and TikTok Shop. Looking ahead, APR plans to introduce its products into approximately 3,000 CVS Pharmacy stores by the close of the current year.

The company's flagship beauty brand, Medicube, has also achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 2 trillion won in cumulative sales through the third quarter of this year.

Outlook for Asia's Beauty Brands

An APR official noted the company's ability to achieve record quarterly revenue and sustain overseas growth despite a stronger won and fewer significant promotional events globally.

Looking to the upcoming Black Friday and Christmas shopping periods, APR intends to further expand its distribution network in North America, Europe, and other key markets, alongside introducing localized products and promotions.

This strategy demonstrates how South Korean beauty brands are successfully scaling in Western markets, emphasizing the necessity of diversified retail channels and tailored regional approaches for Asian brands aiming for substantial international growth beyond their home markets.
