Kolmar Korea Highlights R&D and Manufacturing

Kolmar Korea, a South Korean original development manufacturing (ODM) firm, serves as an official partner at the 2026 Seoul Beauty Week for the fifth consecutive year. The company presents its cosmetics research and manufacturing technologies at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in central Seoul.

Its booth, themed “Every Moment of Your Day, Kolmar,” demonstrates how its R&D and production methods integrate into daily beauty product use. Kolmar Korea organizes its display around a “24-hour beauty routine,” covering morning skincare, daytime sun care, and nighttime cleansing.

Researchers are present in each section to explain different formulations and technologies, and to introduce products developed and manufactured by the company.

Interactive Displays Feature Advanced Formulations

Within the skincare area, Kolmar Korea presents “Dermafit Micro Heedle,” a skin delivery technology. The company states this technology uses hyaluronic acid to reduce irritation while helping active ingredients absorb deeper into the skin. This section also features various skincare formulation testers, reflecting current market preferences.

The sun care zone uses an ultraviolet camera to allow visitors to compare skin before and after applying sunscreen. Kolmar Korea also displays a sun care formulation developed for scalp application. In the cleansing zone, visitors can remove products and use a skin-analysis camera to compare skin conditions. They can also assess the cleansing performance, spreadability, and texture of different formulations.

Seoul Beauty Week Drives Industry Engagement

Kolmar Korea will also participate in a business meetup pitching competition on the final day of the event. Heads of its skincare research center and UV Tech Innovation research center will serve as judges. Winning startups may secure business collaborations with beauty companies.

Seoul Beauty Week, now in its fifth year, functions as a platform to support Korean beauty companies' domestic and international expansion. The event hosts 147 participating companies this year, up from 52 in 2022. The number of countries represented by buyers increased from 18 to 48. Last year, the event generated approximately $30 million in export consultations.

Implications for Asia's Beauty Sector

Kolmar Korea’s consistent presence at Seoul Beauty Week demonstrates the importance of ODM capabilities within the broader K-beauty ecosystem. The event’s growth, with 147 companies and $30 million in 2025 export consultations, reveals rising international interest in sourcing from Korean manufacturers and brands.

For Asian beauty brands and retailers, this event provides insight into emerging formulation technologies, such as advanced skin delivery systems and specialized sun care. The pitching competition also indicates opportunities for new beauty startups to secure partnerships with established industry players, potentially driving innovation across the region’s supply chain.

Companies seeking to expand their K-beauty product lines can use such platforms to identify manufacturing partners and innovative ingredient suppliers.
