Dr.G Enters US TikTok Shop

Korean skincare brand Dr.G has launched on TikTok Shop in the United States, marking a significant step in its international expansion. This move follows L'Oréal's acquisition of Dr.G in 2024, as the French beauty conglomerate continues to invest in the global K-beauty sector. The US market is among the initial key targets for Dr.G's next phase of global growth.

Dr.G first entered the US via Amazon, and its new TikTok Shop storefront adds a direct-to-consumer channel aimed at shoppers who find and purchase beauty products through social media platforms.

Product Assortment and Marketing

The TikTok Shop offering includes seven products, featuring popular formulas from Dr.G's R.E.D and Black Snail collections. Individual product prices range from $25.99 to $44.99. Additionally, five TikTok Shop-exclusive bundles are available, priced between $29.99 and $89.99, providing savings of up to 63% compared to standard retail prices.

The launch is supported by a comprehensive US marketing campaign. This effort includes social media content, collaborations with creators, out-of-home advertisements, influencer activations, and launch events held in New York and Los Angeles.

Dermatological Focus and Market Standing

Dr.G was founded in 2003 by Korean dermatologist Dr. Gun-Young Ahn, with a focus on combining dermatological expertise with clinically tested ingredients for sensitive skin. The brand's product portfolio incorporates ingredients common in Korean skincare, such as Centella Asiatica, PDRN, and Black Snail Mucin.

Tina Fair, President, North America, L’Oréal Consumer Products Division, stated the ambition is to make Dr.G available to every K-beauty consumer in America, emphasizing its origin in delivering clinic-level results. Dr.G claims to be the leading skincare brand in South Korea by penetration, according to Worldpanel by Numerator data from March 2020 to March 2025.

Implications for Asia's Beauty Economy

Dr.G's expansion onto TikTok Shop in the U.S. demonstrates social commerce as a critical direct-to-consumer channel for K-beauty brands seeking new markets. The reported 53% year-over-year growth in global K-beauty sales as of July 2026, as noted by NielsenIQ, confirms the category's international appeal.

This trend suggests sustained demand for K-beauty formulations and ingredients, especially those with dermatological backing, requiring Asian manufacturers and ingredient suppliers to innovate and scale production for diverse global distribution channels, including social commerce platforms.
