NikeSkims Opens Shanghai Pop-Up, Operates Through February 2027
The brand's first physical retail space in China, located at HKRI Taikoo Hui, showcases its Fall Edit 01 collection and offers personalized services.

NikeSkims Launches China Retail Debut with Fall Collection
NikeSkims has inaugurated its first physical retail presence in China, launching a pop-up store within Shanghai’s HKRI Taikoo Hui. This new destination, set to operate through February 2027, showcases the brand's Fall Edit 01 collection, which includes apparel, footwear, and accessories.
Designed for comprehensive customer engagement, the space provides fitting rooms and lounge areas. It also offers personalized services, such as tailoring for select items, enhancing the in-store experience. The Shanghai location plans to further foster engagement by hosting various product experiences, try-ons, and community activities.
Strategic Partnership and Market Expansion
The NikeSkims brand emerged in 2025 through a long-term collaboration between Nike and Kim Kardashian’s Skims label. This partnership merges Nike's expertise in sports and innovation with Skims' focus on women's products and design. Cathy Sparks, Vice President and General Manager for Nike Greater China, stated the brand aims to forge lasting connections with Chinese consumers.
She highlighted the intent to achieve this through innovative design, services, and community experiences. The overall goal is to empower more women to express their strength and beauty with confidence. Following its initial collection launch in the US, NikeSkims is now expanding into additional markets and retail channels, including physical stores and wholesale agreements.
Engaging China's Evolving Beauty and Lifestyle Market
NikeSkims' entry into China via a physical pop-up reflects a direct engagement strategy within a competitive retail environment. The brand's emphasis on empowering women to express "strength and beauty with confidence" resonates with evolving consumer preferences in China for authentic and inclusive brand messaging.
For other international brands considering expansion, this model suggests the importance of localized experiences and community building beyond just product sales. The temporary nature of the Shanghai pop-up, operating until February 2027, allows NikeSkims to gather market insights and adapt its strategy before committing to a permanent footprint.
This approach could inform future decisions for beauty and lifestyle brands on effective market entry and consumer connection in Asia.
