P&G Reports Strong Q1 Fiscal 2027 Performance

Procter & Gamble (P&G) reported a 4% increase in net sales, achieving US$23.3 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2027. This period concluded on September 30, 2026, with overall growth significantly supported by the company's beauty, grooming, and personal care businesses. Beyond reported net sales, P&G also saw its organic sales rise by 4% for the quarter.

Additionally, core earnings per share posted a 1% gain, reaching US$2.00, demonstrating a robust financial quarter for the consumer goods giant.

Beauty Division Leads with 6% Revenue Growth

The Beauty division was a key driver of P&G's performance, generating US$4.41 billion in revenues. This figure represents a substantial 6% increase on a reported basis, with the division's organic sales climbing 5%. Within the Beauty segment, hair care products showed strong results, which P&G attributes to innovation-led pricing strategies and a favorable product mix.

Skincare also contributed positively, recording mid-single-digit organic growth, primarily fueled by the strong performance of premium products and increased consumer demand specifically in North America.

Personal Care, Grooming and Future Outlook

P&G's personal care business experienced growth, significantly boosted by higher sales volumes across important markets like Greater China and Europe. Concurrently, the Grooming division also demonstrated solid performance, with its organic sales increasing by 5% for the quarter.

Looking forward, P&G has maintained its full-year organic sales growth forecast, projecting a range of 1% to 3%. The company also adjusted its reported sales growth outlook for the full year to 2%–4%, a revision that incorporates the impact of its recent acquisition of Thorne.

Asia's Role in P&G's Growth Strategy

The sustained volume growth within P&G's personal care category in Greater China underscores the critical role that Asian markets play in the global beauty and personal care industry. This performance highlights ongoing consumer appetite for established brands and innovative products in the region.

For beauty companies operating in or targeting Asia, P&G's results reinforce the importance of adapting strategies to local market demands, investing in premium offerings, and optimizing supply chains to capitalize on robust consumer spending, especially in dynamic markets like China.
