Sulwhasoo Opens Ginseng Mansion in Shanghai

Amorepacific's luxury skincare brand, Sulwhasoo, has launched its Ginseng Mansion pop-up art space in Shanghai. This multi-level installation, situated at No. 1 Xintiandi North Block, is open to the public from August 29 to September 13, 2026. The initiative marks 60 years of the brand's stated research and development efforts into ginseng-based skincare formulations.

Sulwhasoo describes the activation as a method to connect its scientific advancements and cultural legacy directly with consumers in the strategically significant Chinese market, aiming to bolster its brand presence.

Interactive Displays and Artisan Club Launch

The three-and-a-half-storey pop-up combines multiple elements for visitors. It offers opportunities for product exploration, showcases the company's ginseng research history, and provides individual skincare consultations. The space also features displays of traditional craftsmanship alongside contemporary art.

Sulwhasoo designed the exhibition to trace the evolution of its ginseng research, beginning with the initial ABC Ginseng Cream in 1966 and continuing through what it describes as six generations of innovation. Furthermore, the event introduces the brand's first year-round artist collaboration program in China, called the Sulwhasoo Artisan Club.

Strategic Positioning in China's Luxury Market

Sulwhasoo states this Shanghai activation reinforces its market position within China's competitive luxury skincare segment. The brand leverages its 60-year heritage in ginseng research as a key differentiator. By integrating science, art, and interactive retail experiences, Sulwhasoo aims to strengthen its consumer engagement and brand recognition in a critical market.

This strategy reveals the brand's focus on communicating its long-term commitment to ingredient science and cultural narratives to maintain relevance and appeal among Chinese luxury beauty consumers.
