Reims Site Transformation Underway

Superga Beauty is allocating EUR 15 million to upgrade its Beauty Champagne-Ardenne (BCA) facility in Reims, France. This multi-year program, set to conclude by 2030, aims to transform BCA into a specialized center for skincare, hygiene, and haircare production.

The company initiated this effort with an initial EUR 3 million investment in 2026, focusing on renovating production areas and acquiring new equipment. Superga Beauty acquired the BCA site, formerly part of Eugène Perma, at the end of 2023.

This acquisition was a strategic move to expand its skincare manufacturing capabilities while building on the site's existing expertise in hygiene and haircare. The 16,000 square meter facility, equipped with 12 manufacturing tanks and 10 packaging lines, forms a core part of Superga Beauty's industrial development strategy.

Production Modernization Details

The EUR 3 million investment made in 2026 targeted three critical stages of the production process: weighing, manufacturing, and filling. Superga Beauty completely redesigned the weighing area, introducing new airlocks, controlled material flows, and enhanced air treatment systems.

A new manufacturing zone was established, featuring four independent booths and a dedicated technical area. Both the weighing and manufacturing sections now adhere to ISO 8 standards, incorporating air filtration, 15 air changes per hour, and pressure cascade management for quality control.

For the filling stage, the BCA site developed a specialized area for sensitive products, fitted with four tube-filling lines and a controlled environment. A new washing facility also complements these upgrades.

Strategic Acquisitions and Integrated Capabilities

Alongside the BCA site transformation, Superga Beauty expanded its research and development (R&D) capabilities with the 2026 acquisition of Global Beauty Consulting (GBC). Based in Quimper, France, GBC is a laboratory specializing in formulation, new textures, galenics, natural ingredients, and sensory experiences.

This strategic acquisition aims to integrate formulation and industrialization processes, enabling earlier project involvement and faster product development cycles. This move follows Superga Beauty's 2021 acquisition of the Cosmeurop site in Strasbourg, which focuses on fragrance production.

These investments are part of a broader strategy to integrate various stages of the beauty value chain, including R&D, manufacturing, packaging, and co-packing, across its six industrial sites in France. Superga Beauty, a family-owned group, employs 450 people and produces 120 million units annually across its 60,000 square meters of industrial space.

Implications for Brands and the Market

Superga Beauty's significant investment in its BCA site and the acquisition of GBC position the company to become a more comprehensive partner for beauty brands. Leslie Bréau-Meniger, President of Superga Beauty, stated that the company's ambition is to be a leading player in the French skincare market.

By combining GBC's innovation and formulation expertise with BCA's industrialization and production capacity, Superga Beauty aims to offer an integrated chain of services. This model is designed to help brands innovate, ensure product security, and accelerate their launch timelines.

For Asian beauty brands seeking European manufacturing or formulation partners, this expanded capacity and integrated service offering in France could present a new option.

While the immediate impact is European-centric, the trend towards integrated OEM/ODM capabilities is relevant globally, including for Asian companies looking to optimize supply chains or expand into Western markets.
