Bogart Sells April Cosmetics Israel to Konckier
French cosmetics group Bogart divested its 47-store April Cosmetics and Perfumes Store Chain in Israel to a company owned by its CEO, David Konckier.

Bogart Divests Israeli Retail Chain
French cosmetics firm Bogart completed the sale of its Israeli retail subsidiary, April Cosmetics and Perfumes Store Chain, for €5.8 million. The buyer is April Holding D.K., a company controlled by David Konckier, who serves as Bogart's Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and primary shareholder.
Bogart's Board of Directors approved this related-party transaction on 12 October 2026, with Mr. Konckier recusing himself from the vote. This divestment marks a step in Bogart's broader strategy to re-evaluate its international operations and financial structure.
Financial Performance of April Cosmetics
April Cosmetics and Perfumes Store Chain operates 47 retail locations across Israel. The business was valued at approximately €10 million before accounting for net financial debt, leading to the final sale price of €5.8 million. In 2025, the Israeli subsidiary generated revenues of €36.7 million. This figure represented 13.9 percent of Bogart's consolidated sales for that year. April Cosmetics also reported an EBITDA of €0.7 million in 2025.
Strategic Realignment for Bogart
Bogart stated that the divestment aligns with its strategic goals to review international retail activities and strengthen its overall financial position. The company aims to improve capital allocation across its portfolio by freeing up resources. This move allows Bogart to direct investment and focus towards other key business priorities within its global operations. The sale is part of a wider effort to optimize the group's financial health and operational efficiency.
Implications for Asia's Beauty Sector
This divestment by a European beauty group highlights a global trend among cosmetics companies to rationalize their retail footprints and financial resources. For Asian beauty conglomerates, particularly those with diverse international portfolios, this move by Bogart may prompt similar internal reviews of non-core or underperforming assets.
The emphasis on capital allocation and strategic focus could influence investment decisions and market entry strategies for Asian brands considering expansion into mature markets, urging a clear assessment of retail profitability and operational synergies.
