Pitti Fragranze 2026 Draws 290 Exhibitors, 2,200 Professionals
The 24th edition of the Florence-based niche perfume fair in September welcomed nearly 600 international buyers from over 50 countries, emphasizing human connection in a crowded market.

Pitti Fragranze 2026 Reports Strong Attendance
Pitti Fragranze, the specialized fair for artistic perfumery, concluded its 24th edition in Florence, Italy, from September 11–13, 2026. Held at the Stazione Leopolda, the event attracted 290 exhibitors and more than 2,200 buyers and industry professionals.
Pitti Immagine, the organizer, reported that nearly 600 international buyers from over 50 countries attended, alongside approximately 460 members of the press and media.
Ivano Cauli, CEO of Pitti Immagine, noted positive feedback regarding the presence of highly qualified buyers, both Italian and international, who sought a carefully selected mix of established and emerging brands.
Human Scale Fosters Industry Identity
Despite a saturated industry of brands and trade fairs, professionals continue to prioritize Pitti Fragranze due to its distinctive identity and human scale. Moe Khalaf, founder of Kajal Perfumes, described Pitti as the show that understands artistic perfumery, highlighting the creativity of exhibiting brands.
For Khalaf, who has attended for over a decade, the event feels like "home." Aistis Mickevičius, founder of FUMparFUM, also referred to Pitti as a "motherland" after transitioning from visitor to exhibitor.
Jean-Philippe Clermont, founder of Atelier Des Ors, emphasized the relaxed atmosphere, stating, "You can breathe deeply here," and noted that attendees have ample time for meaningful interactions.
Relationships Drive Business and Discovery
Pitti's strength lies in creating an environment where human connections can flourish, leading to business outcomes. Luca Falchetti, founder of Italian distributor Essenses, views informal gatherings in Florence as essential for deepening relationships with brands before presenting them to retailers. The fair also serves as a crucial platform for discovery.
Marc Janssen, founder of 15West, noted Pitti's selection as a balance between emerging and commercially viable brands. Sebastian Jara of The Perfume Guy recalled discovering Réserve en Afrique at Pitti after overlooking it at larger events.
This focus on personal engagement directly translates into partnerships, as seen with Sophia Gyé-Jacquot of Mezel, who secured distribution with 50 ml Distribution after meeting co-founder Matteo Stringhini at the previous year's event.
Niche Fragrance Model for Asian Markets
The Pitti Fragranze model, emphasizing direct relationships and a carefully selected brand mix, offers a valuable reference for Asian beauty markets. As consumer demand for artisanal perfumery grows in regions like South Korea and Japan, specialized events that prioritize deep connections over sheer volume could benefit local niche fragrance brands.
These platforms could help Asian brands seeking international distribution to establish global partnerships, while also enabling Asian distributors to identify unique international offerings. This approach could inform the development of more focused, relationship-driven beauty trade events across Asia.
