CGBio promotes FACETEM in Colombia, targets Latin America expansion
The Korean medical aesthetics firm held "Meet the Masters LATAM 2026" in Bogotá from September 3-4, showcasing its calcium hydroxyapatite filler.

CGBio Expands Latin American Reach with Colombia Symposium
Korean medical aesthetics company CGBio recently hosted a symposium in Bogotá, Colombia, to advance its FACETEM calcium hydroxyapatite filler and grow its presence across the Latin American market. The event, titled "Meet the Masters LATAM 2026," took place at the Hilton Bogotá Corferias from September 3 to 4.
It gathered physicians for detailed discussions on collagen biostimulation and the clinical uses of FACETEM. CGBio stated its goal for the symposium was to deepen local medical professionals' understanding of FACETEM while strengthening its business operations in the region, designating Colombia as a central hub for its Latin American strategy.
FACETEM's Formulation and Clinical Focus
FACETEM is described by CGBio as a biostimulator, formulated with 30 percent calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres and 70 percent carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) gel carrier. The company claims the product is designed to restore volume in soft tissue affected by wrinkles or volume loss.
CGBio highlighted that FACETEM's cohesive, semi-solid consistency results from its proprietary apatite research and manufacturing technology.
The "Meet the Masters" symposium explored the theme "The Regenerative Continuum: From Histological Insight to Holistic Rejuvenation." Sessions focused on CaHA particle characteristics, FACETEM's specific formulation, and clinical guidelines for selecting between CaHA and poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA).
Participants also reviewed strategies for combining CaHA treatments with energy-based devices (EBDs), including live patient demonstrations.
Strategic Partnerships Drive Regional Growth
CGBio organized the Bogotá event with a local partner and received support from the Bogotá office of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). Beyond the main symposium, the company conducted separate meetings with partners from various Latin American countries. These discussions focused on annual business plans and future market expansion strategies.
Looking ahead, CGBio plans to continue hosting regional symposiums in key Latin American markets. The company also intends to broaden its practical training initiatives for physicians, which will include hands-on sessions and cadaver workshops.
Outlook for Korean Medical Aesthetics in Latin America
CGBio CEO Yu Hyun-seung stated the recent symposium provided a platform to share FACETEM's product characteristics and clinical application strategies, backed by scientific evidence and real-world experience, with Latin American physicians.
Yu added that CGBio will continue academic exchanges and educational programs for medical professionals, leveraging Colombia as a regional center. The company also aims to reinforce cooperation with its country-specific partners to enhance FACETEM's brand credibility and expand its business foundation across Latin America.
This strategic expansion by CGBio illustrates a growing trend for Korean medical aesthetics firms to invest in direct physician education and localized partnerships to penetrate emerging markets outside of Asia.
