DFI Retail Group Secures GNC Franchise for Singapore, Macau
DFI Retail Group will serve as the exclusive wholesaler, distributor, and franchisee for GNC health and wellness products in Singapore and Macau, starting the fourth quarter of 2026.

Exclusive Partnership for GNC Products
DFI Retail Group will become the exclusive wholesaler, distributor, and franchisee for GNC health and wellness products in Singapore and Macau. This agreement is set to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026. The move expands a collaboration that has spanned two decades between the two companies.
GNC products will be made available through DFI’s Guardian stores and GNC's standalone outlets across both markets. This follows a recent resolution by Singapore's Court of Appeal, which upheld GNC’s rights to assume former store leases. The ruling allows GNC to re-establish its independent retail presence in Singapore.
DFI to Manage Sales and Distribution
Under the terms of the agreement, DFI will manage sales, marketing, distribution, and logistics for GNC’s product portfolio. This range includes vitamins, minerals, and sports nutrition items. Curtis Liu, DFI’s CEO for health and beauty, stated that the group's market understanding and retail network allows it to make GNC products available in Singapore.
Consumers in Singapore will be able to purchase GNC’s products via Guardian’s physical and online stores, as well as new GNC standalone retail locations. The collaboration also designates DFI as GNC’s exclusive franchisee in Macau.
Building on Existing Collaboration
The expanded collaboration builds on an existing partnership in Hong Kong, where GNC products are distributed through its standalone stores and DFI’s Mannings health and beauty chain. GNC first established its presence in Singapore in 1997.
Cheri Mullen, GNC's chief global franchise and wholesale officer, stated the company aims to rebuild and strengthen its market presence in Singapore. She added that GNC plans to deliver wellness solutions it claims offer quality, innovation, and scientific backing to consumers in the market.
Market Implications for Health Supplements
This agreement provides GNC with a clear path to re-establish its retail footprint in Singapore following its recent legal challenges. For DFI Retail Group, securing exclusive wholesaler, distributor, and franchisee rights to GNC’s portfolio strengthens its health and beauty offerings within its Guardian network across Singapore and Macau.
This move will likely intensify competition within the health supplement retail segment in Southeast Asia. Regional players and other international brands seeking distribution in these markets may need to assess DFI's expanded market share and GNC's renewed presence in the health and wellness category.
The partnership demonstrates the continued value of established retail networks for international brands entering or re-entering Asian markets.
