Lubrizol Expands Singapore Innovation Hub
Lubrizol has enhanced its Southeast Asia Innovation Centre in Singapore, adding new laboratory capabilities effective October 13, 2026. Located in the Jurong district, this expansion introduces advanced capacities in synthesis, analytical, and physical sciences.
These additions aim to accelerate the development of customer-focused solutions across a range of sectors, including energy storage, coatings, electronics, packaging, life sciences, and healthcare.
The center's establishment received support from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), reinforcing its role as a regional platform for scientific innovation and technical advancement.
Enhanced Regional Development Support
The newly integrated capabilities complement the center's existing services, which include application development, formulation expertise, and technical testing. This combined approach allows Lubrizol to offer more comprehensive support to its clients, helping them address complex industry challenges.
Julie Edgar, Lubrizol's Chief Technology Officer, stated that customers require innovation partners who can act quickly, apply deep insights, and deliver market-relevant solutions. She added that the Singapore center's expanded technical resources improve Lubrizol's ability to translate scientific knowledge into commercial products and speed up market impact.
Investing in Future Talent
Beyond its lab expansion, Lubrizol is launching its "Learning Labs" program in Singapore. This local initiative forms part of the company's global STEM education commitment, designed to inspire future scientists, engineers, and innovators. The program offers hands-on learning, mentoring, and career exploration opportunities.
Since its global launch in 2025, the Learning Labs initiative has engaged more than 12,000 students through over 50 STEM learning experiences worldwide. Henry Liu, Lubrizol's Vice President for Asia Pacific, emphasized the importance of innovation and talent for long-term growth.
He noted that these initiatives, alongside Lubrizol's wider Southeast Asia laboratory network, show the company's long-term dedication to Singapore as a hub for innovation, talent development, and collaboration throughout Asia Pacific.
