LVMH Reports Modest Organic Growth

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton announced a 1 percent organic revenue increase for the third quarter of 2026. The conglomerate's total revenue reached €18.5 billion during this period. For the first nine months of 2026, LVMH recorded €57.1 billion in sales, marking a 2 percent organic growth.

This performance was primarily supported by its Perfumes & Cosmetics and Selective Retailing divisions, even as the company noted softer consumer demand within the Chinese market.

Perfumes & Cosmetics Division Performance

The Perfumes & Cosmetics division generated €2.01 billion in revenue for the third quarter, achieving 1 percent organic growth. Over the first nine months of 2026, the division's revenue totaled €5.92 billion, maintaining stability on an organic basis. Parfums Christian Dior saw benefits from new product launches, including J’adore Intense, Sauvage Extrait, and Dior Addict.

The brand also reported strong sales for its Forever and Backstage makeup lines. Guerlain contributed substantial growth, fueled by its fragrance portfolio and Rouge G lipstick products.

Sephora's Market Expansion and Strategy

The Selective Retailing division, which includes Sephora, posted an 8 percent organic growth in the third quarter. Sephora continued to expand its market share by focusing on established brands, introducing exclusive product launches such as Rhode, and integrating Chinese beauty brands into its offerings.

Geographically, Sephora extended its retail presence with new stores in Belgium and Croatia. These results demonstrate the continued resilience of specialist beauty retail and prestige beauty products within the broader luxury sector.

Impact on Asia's Beauty Economy

LVMH's financial update reveals a dual dynamic for Asia's beauty market. The reported weaker demand in China suggests a cautious consumer environment that Asian beauty brands and retailers should monitor for the remainder of 2026.

Conversely, Sephora's strategy to feature “Chinese beauty brands” presents a significant opportunity for local companies to gain international exposure and market penetration through a prominent global retail channel. This could encourage more Asian beauty brands to pursue partnerships with major international retailers for global expansion.
