Proya Secures US Retail Entry with Ulta Beauty Deal
Chinese beauty firm Proya Cosmetics Co will launch two key product lines in 400 Ulta Beauty stores and online across the USA starting November this year. This agreement marks Proya's stated move into wider international operations and global brand building.

US Retail Partnership Details
Hangzhou-based Proya Cosmetics Co, founded in 2003, has formed a partnership with Ulta Beauty, the largest specialist beauty retailer in the USA. Starting November 2026, Proya’s Advanced Firming Nourishing Series and Original Repair Series will be available in 400 Ulta Beauty stores nationwide. The products will also sell on Ulta.com.
This distribution makes Proya available to millions of Ulta Beauty Rewards loyalty members across all 50 US states. Ulta Beauty operates more than 1,500 stores across the USA, having opened its first location in 1990.
Proya's Global Strategy
Proya states this partnership represents a “landmark leap” in its global expansion strategy. The company claims it marks a shift from merely exporting products to achieving brand globalization. Proya views the agreement as the starting point for long-term localized operations in North America.
These operations will involve consumer insight development, product optimization, and brand narrative building, according to Proya. The company's philosophy includes a “Double-Ten” strategic vision, aiming to be among the top ten global cosmetics houses within ten years.
Proya also targets global travel retail as important for international advancement, citing the channel’s potential for product display and sales.
Implications for Asian Beauty Brands
This deal shows a Chinese beauty brand entering mainstream global retail channels. Proya claims its strategy relies on proprietary scientific research and product performance it states is validated by studies. The company aims to build lasting trust with mainstream retail channels and consumers through standardized brand management and differentiated product value.
Proya states this model for brand-led overseas expansion sets a new benchmark for Chinese beauty brands' international growth.
For other Asian beauty brands, Proya's move highlights the importance of securing distribution with large Western retailers like Ulta Beauty for market entry, and demonstrates a strategy of leading with specific product lines rather than a full portfolio initially.
