GC WellBeing, 365mc Partner on RZL-012 Fat Reduction in Korea
The collaboration aims to establish clinical evidence and treatment protocols for the injectable drug candidate, designed to reduce localized fat, supporting GC WellBeing's medical aesthetics expansion.

Korean Partnership for Fat Reduction Drug
GC WellBeing has established a partnership with 365mc, a specialist in obesity treatment, to advance the injectable drug candidate RZL-012 in Korea. The two companies formalized their collaboration with a memorandum of understanding signed on September 30 in Seoul.
This agreement supports the domestic development and commercialization of RZL-012, a product designed to reduce localized fat, as GC WellBeing expands its presence in the medical aesthetics sector within the country. The signing ceremony took place at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, with GC WellBeing CEO Kim Sang-hyun and 365mc CEO Kim Nam-chul present.
Clinical Development and Market Strategy
The partnership will combine GC WellBeing's exclusive Korean development and commercialization rights for RZL-012 with 365mc's extensive clinical experience in treating obesity and localized fat.
Their joint efforts will focus on building robust clinical evidence for RZL-012 and developing standardized treatment protocols, drawing on 365mc's expertise in fat management and body contouring. Both companies also plan to collaborate on academic and marketing content, preparing for the drug candidate's future market launch.
GC WellBeing had previously secured these exclusive rights through a licensing agreement and strategic investment with U.S.-based Raziel Therapeutics.
Expanding Aesthetics and Nutritional Offerings
GC WellBeing aims to broaden its medical aesthetics portfolio beyond its current prescription-based offerings, specifically targeting the body contouring market through RZL-012. The collaboration extends beyond this initial drug candidate.
GC WellBeing intends to combine its research capabilities in functional ingredients and product development with 365mc's experience in nutritional management.
This will facilitate the creation and commercialization of nutritional products tailored for individuals undergoing GLP-1-based obesity treatments, addressing the increasing demand for complementary weight management solutions, particularly for localized fat reduction and muscle mass preservation.
Implications for Korea's Medical Aesthetics Market
This strategic alliance positions GC WellBeing to strengthen its foothold in Korea's medical aesthetics and body contouring segments, a market showing increased interest in localized fat reduction and muscle maintenance alongside the rise of GLP-1 drugs.
For other companies in the Asian beauty economy, this signals a potential growth area in targeted aesthetic treatments and specialized nutritional supplements that support broader weight management trends.
Ingredient suppliers and formulators could find new opportunities in developing functional ingredients for these emerging product categories, driven by clinical partnerships and evolving consumer needs in Korea and potentially other regional markets like Japan or Southeast Asia.
